I just came across the work of Félicien Rops, dandy parisian illustrator, friend of Baudelaire and Barbey d'Aurevilly. It made me think of Tanino Liberatore.

ROPS is born in Belgium ( Country of Namur)
He lived any years in Paris but remain Belgian.
Your blog is very interesting. Friendly and from Belgium ( not only the counrty of chocolate!)
Georges, thanks for pointing out Rops nationality. When I stumbled across his work the other evening, I google up some brief bio-notes and found out that he used to hang out in Paris, so I visualised him as one of the many artists that adopted paris.
For example, if I think of Modigliani I think of him in relation to Paris. despite country of origin. Obviously, this is clear only in my head...
So thanks again, and glad you find this blog interesting.
